Memorial Day in the United States is a time to remember the fallen heroes. The heroes that sacrificed it all for God and country. These men and women are brave, strong, selfless when called to be and they will never again walk among the living. Their families grieve today while we celebrate. It’s a humbling and sobering thought.
I’ve heard many different quotes through the years and all have been great and meaningful but I recently found a quote by JFK that somehow really spoke to me this year and so I leave you with his words.
“As we express our gratitude we must never forget the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” ~ John Fitzgerald Kennedy
