Think Before You Speak

I grew up in a home where you were told to “think before you speak.” To consider people’s feelings above your own and be kind with what you say.

So when Senator Walsh from Washington State decided to state that “nurses spend a considerable amount of time playing cards throughout the day.” She did not take the time to think before she spoke. In my opinion I think she didn’t care who she offended with what she said. She also has no clue what she is talking about.

I’ve worked in the hospital. I’ve worked on the medical floor, in the ED, ICU and Labor and Delivery and in all these departments and we as nurses went without breaks because we were caring for our patients. We went without peeing and without food for hours because we were too busy helping others to take care of ourselves!!!! And this is in a rural hospital in a smaller town!!! I can’t even imagine what it would be like in major cities.

Apparently, Senator Walsh needs to be sent back to 1st Grade where they learn manners.
