Last year I severely injured my right shoulder. I went through months and months of doctors appointments and tests….on and on to figure out the my right rotator cuff was torn by about 70% and I was going to need surgery.
You would think that this would be easy peesy? Oh no!!!! Rotator cuff surgery is considered one of the worst surgeries to recover from. I about died when my surgeon told me that! Especially, as a nurse, because if one thing holds true for us is that if anything can go wrong, IT WILL!!!!!
Okay, my surgery went fine, but I did have to spend a month in a sling and sleep in a chair for several weeks because trying to lay down with your arm in a sling is not happening. Also, sleep doesn’t come easy because the pain is out of this world.
I spent a lot of time reading books, watching movies and binge watching TV shows that I had never watched before. One of those shows was Hawaii Five-O. Not the older one but the remake and I gotta say Steve and Danny are my favorites. Probably because of the verbal back and forth which leads me to my favorite TV line of all time.
“No. I am not scared. I am rationally concerned.” ~ Danno
Oddly enough, this line could probably sum up most of most of my adult life. Don’t show fear, show concern. 😊
