Rebel Mama

I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but 32 years ago when I was 10, (I feel so old!) I remember being a rebel meant not going to church, cussing, staying out late, cutting school and so much more.

The other day I read a post that pulled me up short. It said be a rebel now. Go to church, love Jesus, don’t cuss, raise respectful children, etc…

I laughed for a second and then I paused. It’s true!!! Our morals and attitudes in this country have shifted to the point that being a “good” boy or girl is almost a bad word and honestly, I’m okay with that. I’m so tired of what is part of the “in crowd” now, being a rebel is delightful. Going to church and singing praises, teaching my kids how to be good citizens and obey the law and living my life differently than the “normal people”.

As a matter of fact, the other day I had a gentleman that was over the top rude to me for no other reason than I existed. I could have been a jerk like him, but instead I was so kind by the time I was done he was mortified and looked like the idiot he tried to make me feel. Good manners are never wrong and if I am labeled a rebel of society by doing this and instilling those qualities in my children than call me a rebel with a cause!!!
