On June 24, 2018, I wrote a short story, on this blog, about my parents move to Monmouth, Oregon. It was quite the ordeal. They had lived for 27 years in the house the sold in Deschutes Riverwoods to move 160 miles away. My mom had been born over in the valley area and was happy to return, my dad was happy to follow and my brother and his family were already there.
I was the only hold out. I was the only one that said this was not the move they should have made and probably would not be the last they made. 9 months after moving there to help my brother and his family, my brother was moved to Redmond, Or. I would have said I told you so but that would been petty. Oh heck!!! I did a couple of times 😂
Then COVID hit and our ability to visit my parents went down to none for a couple years. This was not the retirement they wished for and my brother and I wanted them back in Central Oregon.
So after a lot of waiting and just the right buyers, my parents are coming home!
Today they are moving back and we are so happy! My parents will once again be able to go to all the choir concerts, soccer & baseball games and have the kids for sleepovers whenever they want.
Welcome Home!! We missed you so close ❤️
