Curve Balls

I’m a baseball fan. I grew up watching the Bend Phillies and the Bend Rockies when they were the minor league teams for the majors. I spent a lot of my summer nights at those games. My grandparents had box seats and we were there all the time. Catching popflys, eating ice cream out of those cool hats and just running around being kids. Those are some of my most cherished childhood memories.

My favorite players to watch as a kid were always the pitchers. How do they throw so fast? How do they make the ball curve like that? I never really wanted the answers I just liked to watch. As an adult though I have to admit when life throws you a curve ball it sucks.

Monday I wrote that my daughter’s and I were going to the pool and I planned on just a nice relaxing day after. BBQ with my parents who were in town maybe put on a movie after, YEAH RIGHT!

My husband took  Bebe to the store, my parents went to an appointment for my mom and I went to get my allergy shot with the the twins in tow. Jen, my co-worker, and I chatted for a minute she gave me my allergy shot and within a minute of receiving my shot I was dizzy, lightheaded and needed to sit back down. Next thing I knew I was on the floor, covered in sweat and there were people everywhere above me, talking to me, asking me questions. This had to be a dream, right? (NOPE) My BP was 66/48, my oxygen was 82%, I was nauseated, I had no idea where my girls were and I was at my work. (I’m going to be teased forever for this!) Just kidding, everyone there did an amazing job of stabilizing me and I cannot thank them enough. I’m so proud to work with such a great team of people.

I was in the ER for a few hours of monitoring but otherwise sent home with the best guess of I had a Vasovagal Syncope after the shot. (Fine with me!!!) Get me outta here!!! So all in all not the best day but could have been so much worse. I was back at work yesterday and so happy to see everybody! Received a lot of hugs and admonishments of “Don’t ever do that again! You scared us to death!” (Scared myself pretty good too!) But all in all back to normal and life is good. So happy to have all these people in my life. 🙂
